Physical Education has been trying to get outside as much as possible since the beginning of the year but we are going to be spending more time inside now until the spring weather rolls in again.
Grade 4 and 5 finished up a cooperative game unit and are moving on next week to a numeracy and literacy game unit. They will be involved in active games while having to use their math and letter knowledge. Grade 6 finished up rotating through volleyball and kickball units, and are going to be building skills for soccer and bowling/curling in their next units. Grades 7 and 8 finished up their first selection units of volleyball, kickball, flag football and soccer where they participated in 2 of the 4 based on their choice. They will now be starting their second selection unit which offers training for sport (fitness inspired), bowling/curling, low organized games, and wrestling mat games. Grade 9's have to choose between 2 activities at a time. They have worked through 2 selections: 1. volleyball and flag football, and 2. kickball and soccer. There next options are still to be determined. In only being able to offer 2 selections, we are trying to offer high interest activities. |
